100-Day Plan
A 100-day plan is the operational agenda a PE-backed company executes in the first three months following an acquisition.
A 100-day plan is the operational agenda a PE-backed company executes in the first three months following an acquisition. It typically covers quick wins (cost reductions, vendor renegotiations), foundational infrastructure (reporting systems, management dashboards, HR policies), and strategic initiatives (product repositioning, sales force changes, technology upgrades). The plan is owned jointly by portco management and the PE sponsor's operating team, with milestones reviewed at 30, 60, and 90 days. It sets the tone for the entire hold period and establishes whether the sponsor's investment thesis is on track.
